Biggest spiders ever found turn up in Middletown Ohio

On Wednesday, a Middletown man went to his shed to get his lawnmower out but what he discovered may disturb you.
Russell Smith says it was the largest thing he’s ever seen, something belonging in the jungles of the Amazon.
This new species of spider, which is believed to be among the world’s most venomous, is also the largest known spider ever recorded. The exctedin aracnophilla (Ohio wandering spider) was found in a shed on Wilberham ave.
The spider was guarding a large nest containing as many as 5000 hatchings, and after further investigation 6 other houses in the neighborhood of the 1600 block of Wilberham at least 30 other of these enormous spiders were found.
They are very aggressive and if found do not approach as they are able to spit a toxin 20 feet as a deterrent which is comparable to muradic acid. Although it’s not deadly the toxic can produce large burns and scars lasting towards of 15 to 20 years. The bite however has enough venom to kill 13 adult elephants which is why extreme caution is needed when running into one of these spiders.
As of Thursday 4 more colonies have been found throughout the city. Mayfield, Douglas park area, Manchester manor and Lakeside are all areas that’s been positive for sightings of these deadly spiders.
Scientists are baffled at this brand new species emerging in such abundance without any prior discoveries and so far north. Most spiders this size and venomous are usually found along the equator.
Be cautious and if you run into one please call your local pest control center immediately.
