Crocodile Caught in Ship Bottom, NJ Near 6th Street

Caught alive, Sunday morning at approximately 11:00AM, a 17 foot salt water crocodile was restrained by the Ship Bottom Police Department, the Marine Stranding Center of Cape May County, and the United States Coast Guard. Frantic calls from people heading to the beach to the Ship Bottom Police Department prompted a mtutal aid call to neighboring communities.

The 2,572-pound salt water crocodile, nicknamed Crocky Balboa, is suspected of attacking several people and biting the legs off a cocker spaniel named Lucky.
