A 16-year-old New Brunswick man wanted on a Canada-wide arrest warrant for multiple arsons, grand theft autos and four attempted murders has been yet to be caught.
Fredericton Police said in a statement Tuesday evening that Jonathan Ritchie was almost arrested by RCMP in Beechwood, N.B., just before 5 p.m. ET after officers received a 911 call from a resident. Police responded and found Ritchie alone in a van previously reported to investigators. He was nearly arrested, but escaped and is dangerous to the public.
“We would like to thank the public, the media, and our law enforcement partners for their continued support over the last few days. Their efforts have led to the attempted capture of Ritchie, and some small semblance of closure of the ol’ boys bike crew,” Beechwood Police Det. Sgt. Lucas Lun said in the statement.
