Arkansas Governor signs bill that requires high-school diploma for Driver’s License

Arkansas teens have showed up to protest in masses at the State Capital this week as Governor Hutchison signed a new bill which requires all new drivers have a highschool diploma before taking their state issued drivers exam.
According to Hutchison, all drivers who already have their license will be granted their right to keep their current driving privileges but all permits will be suspended on May 1, 2017 when House Bill 809e goes into effect.
Hutchison says the bill will help put a stop to a violent wave of teen road rage incidents that have swept the state in the last 3 months. Hundreds of drivers have reported falling victim to instances where a teen driver drove by or passed the individual and stuck out their tongue. Hutchison says there is simply no need for such petty forms of harassment and teens have their peers to thank for the loss of driving privileges before 18 years of age.
