Bena, MN man mistakenly nabbed in immigration sting

Geroge James Goggleye jr (52), a resident of Bena, MN and an enrolled member of th Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe is currently in immagration hold, waiting to be deported to Venezuela . He was walking out of a Walmart store in Grand Rapids,MN and was picked up by ICE units working a case involvin a man fitting Mr. Goggleye’s description. Goggleye did not have his wallet and idenifcation card on his person to prove his idenity. His mother,, how ever, tried to provide his documents after his arrest to prove he is a enrolled member of the Leech lake band and was not the man agents where looking for.
Ms. Robinson was told by US Border Patrol Agents, β€œWe do not have custody of Mr. Goggleye and he is in deportation to Venezula.” according to ICE agents, Mr. Goggleye bears a strong resemblance to the former Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez and is believed to be a blood relative.

A go-fund-me page was started by his family to pick him up at the US-Mexico border where he is being held.
