Just under an hour ago, four armed men wearing dark hoods and ski masks entered the Capital One Bank on Linden Blvd in Queens tossing smoke and flash bang grenades at the occupants inside. Upon entry, the robbers then immediately ordered everyone to the ground and to surrender all personal belongings. Three of the men proceeded to demanding money from the bank tellers while another had his assault rifle pointed at the customers. An eye witness inside the bank reported that a baby started to cry which provided US Army Veteran Steven Wallace a brief moment of distraction that he used to attached the robber from behind. Wallace tackled the perpetrator, stabbed him in the neck with his hunting knife and took his assault rifle. He then tucked and rolled behind a heavy wooded desk and began to exchange gun fire with the others. This went on for about two minutes before Wallace tactically eliminated the other three remaining suspects. Law enforcement officials are also reporting that the robbers has been on the FBI’s most wanted list for a string of robberies across the country. More information to follow as this story develops.
