Constable Charged

Constable Wiltshire has pleaded not guilty in the Arima Magistrates’ Court to the charge of cocaine trafficking.

He was arrested after allegedly attempting to board a flight to Barbados, with cocaine concealed in her luggage.

According to a statement issued by the police, Wiltshire, 28, of Point Fortin, was at the Piarco International Airport, around 7:30pm last Friday preparing to board flight BW415, destined for Barbados, when he was stopped and interviewed at a security check point.

His suitcase was searched and 2.20 kilogrammes of cocaine allegedly discovered concealed inside. The drug has an estimated street value of over one million dollars.

Wiltshire, was charged by PC Fullerton of the Arima Police Station and appeared before Senior Magistrate Gillian Scotland, in the Arima First Magistrates’ Court, on Monday . The matter as adjourned to Friday.
