DEASLY EAST LOS ANGELES SHOOT OUT LEAVES TEEN IN CRITICAL CONDITION

A 19 year old boy who is now indentified as Andy Ruiz, was shot 4 times today, officials say the shootout occured at around 4:00 pm this afternoon, The incident took place in East Los Angeles, known to be notorious for gangs and gang affiliates. Atlantic and Whittier Blvd remain closed until further notice. The Los Angeles Sherriff’s Department has yet to hold a press confrence. Channel 23 News has this latest update ( 4:32PM ): Information from a witness describes Andy as a typical person walking anywhere, either to work, home or school, he seemed calm and normal just like any other pedestrian. The witness says she heard 4 loud bangs when she saw the 19 year old running for his life, he later collapsed about 30 seconds after reaching the corner of atlantic blvd. “He was laying lifeless, gasping for air and all i could do was try and calm him down while others called 911” said – Mary Thompson. Andy was airlifted to Kaiser Permanente, where he is being treated for his wounds. Paramedics say he lost a good amount of blood and is in critical condition. “It’s sad to see young people/kids being targeted for gang retaliation…gang confusions…whatever the reason may be…it needs to end.
