Fort Gibson woman arrested on animal cruelty charges

After a tip from the accused woman’s mother police arrested Cheryl Daniels late Friday. It was reported to police two dogs and 2 cats were being horrible malnourished. Once in the home police investigators say that their findings were quit the opposite, in fact one of the animals was morbidly obese. One police investigator told police it might be one of the most disgusting things he had ever seen as he paused to hold back the vomit and the dry heaves while describing it. He was quoted as saying “its (explicititive) gut is dragging the ground” as he doubled over salivating. With tears in his eyes and hand over mouth he told the reporter he couldn’t discuss any further or there would be a mess to clean up. Investigators were also told the animals were not given water for hours but many water sources were found around the home. It is likely that the judge will dismiss the case since there’s no law against overfeeding pets. Though investigators say there is no wrongdoing there needs to be more attention brought to obesity in pets.
