According to a police news release, at 9:04 pm the Belleville Police Department, and the Freeburg Fire Department responded to multiple 911 calls of an accident involving a semi-truck and a car. Alyssa George , age 18, was pronounced dead at the scene, Gary Jalles , age 61, was immediately airlifted to SSM Health St. Louis Hospital. The accident occurred off of IL Route 161 , further investigation is being conducted.
