George agrees, headed to Boston.

The Boston Celtics acquired forward Paul George in a sign and trade from the Indiana Pacers on saturday morning for Jalen Brown and the rights to the Celtics 2018 NBA Draft’s first round pick. Indiana also gets the rights to the Celtics 2020 first round pick. The deal is expected to be a five-year max contract that guarantees him between $80 and $90 million and could be worth even more if George reaches an escalator clause.

The blockbuster trade was first reported by ESPN.com’s Andy Katz.

George will take his offensive prowess to Boston and join with Isaiah Thomas. The move should quiet the fans of “Bean Town” comments, voiced several times, about being dissatisfied with the youth movement that could keep Boston from contending.

As long as that guy number 23 is in Ohio, we better do something fast or we’re doomed.
