Local musician nominated for Grammy for guitar tuning

McAlester, Ok resident Matthew Wood recently won a Grammy nod for a “guitar tuning” track accidentally left on a demo tape. “I completely forgot it was on there” said Wood, “We had just finished recording Blank Space by Taylor Swift, and as anybody knows her guitar playing is on a whole other level, very difficult and intricate, so needless to say after the song I was severely out of tune and we weren’t playing Nirvana next so I had to tune back up, apparently the recorder was left on and the rest is history”. When local bar owners heard the 45 second tuning, they reportedly wept. A local studio executive for Sony records happened to be in the bar that day and upon hearing the guitar tune said “What in heavens name is that glorious sound resonating from that speaker?!”. “That’s a guitar” replied the owner, eyes blackened from tears and mascara. “All I know is I was driving to work one day and I heard me tuning on the radio and the DJ said they were looking for me cause I was nominated for a Grammy for most original piece” states Wood. Wood is expected to travel to Hollywood where numerous artists such as Taylor Swift, Nick Jonas, John Mayer and Katy Perry have signed on for tuning classes, even the Lil’ Wayne has expressed interest in not only tuning his guitar, but also learning atleast one chord. When asked to provide his opinion about all this rushed fame, Matt simply replies “I just gotta know when the awards are gonna be cause I gotta put in for that day off 30 days in advance
