A woman reported that a pair intentionally ran over a cat this past Friday night in the parking lot of Burger King on Washtenaw avenue in Ypsilanti Michigan, and that the animal appeared to have been tortured.
The witness told police that the two people, a man of Hispanic decent ( Gibbs ) and an African American man (unknown), drove up to the drive-thru in a silver car and threw the feline out of the car and onto pavement, then backed over it multiple times. The witness said her child also witnessed the incident. The car then left and the occupants drove off laughing, the woman said.
The woman told police she went over to the cat, noting it was dead and its eyes were missing; she believed it had been tortured. She gave police a the name that she believed was Gibbs because she had worked with him at restaurant in Ypsilanti years back, which officers traced back to the identity of Gibb’s Facebook page. The woman and child confirmed this is the same man.
Officers had not determined the identity of the other suspect at the time of the report.
