Mark Van Tilborg a local warehouse employee was arrested Friday afternoon by the Gwinnett County Police for positution and keeping a house of positution. Mark, a well known male for male escort and glory hole operator in Buford Ga. Was released on a $50,000 bond shortly after being booked into the Gwinnett County Jail.
Channel 23 News got an inclusive interview with Mark.
Mark said he got into escorting a couple years ago to pay for his growing family’s mounting grocery bill. “I figured it’d be a way to make a quick buck, while also allowing me to explore my sexuality through a different avenue,” Mark said.
Mark says he never expected to become a sex worker. But spurred on by a need for quick cash and encouraged by how easy it was to get started, he eventually took the plunge.
Like many others in the industry, Mark says he also operates a glory hole and works in gay porn to make extra cash. Industry insiders say about 60 percent to 70 percent of porn actors also work as escorts.
But unlike porn, escorting is much more than just, as Mark put it, a “whack and go.”
“You’re devoting an hour or more to another human being,” he said. “Sure, sex sometimes happens, but most of what I do is psychological work.”
A typical client, according to Mark, seems to be a working African-American professional in his 30s or 40s who is either gay or bisexual and has no time or interest in dating; otherwise, he’s someone who publicly identifies as straight.
When asking Mark about how his wife feels about his line of work, Mark would only reply ” $20 is $20.”
We could only obtain a family photo of Mark because his recent photos were too graphic and unusable due to his recent lifestyle choices and sex industry work.
