North Dakota Man Charged with Poaching

Beltrami County (MN) Sheriff’s Department received tip that an hunter wearing camouflage was spotted North of Wilton on State Range 27. Upon locating the man from Mandaree, ND. He stated it was his indigenous right as an Enrolled Tribal Member of the MHA Nation to subsistence hunt in traditional Ojibway territory as he is married to a Red Lake Ojibway Tribal Member as is custom. He also claimed and was later verified by authorities that he served his country faithfully in the United States Marines for 4 years. Ultimately authorities charged William A. Reeves II, trespassing and unlawful discharged of a firearm within 400 yards of a school. Mr. Reeves was released after the Twin Cities Chapter of AIM posted his bail. Court Date is Pending for late September 2017.
