Pair of German Shepherds escape Training School-Trek almost 100 miles home

A pair of German Shepherd dogs, Dietz and Sheeba, were dropped off for a two week board and train 10 days ago in Fayetteville, AR. The pair did great at training but obviously missed home. On Saturday night, the trainer was preparing to feed them when he found their beds not only empty, but missing. Upon further inspection, he found their bag of toys gone and the back door standing open. Sure the dogs had been stolen, he notified Fayetteville police and made the proper report. Hoping to find the animals quickly he put off notifying the owners until the next day. When Sunday afternoon came with no word on the whereabouts of the pair, he realized he would have to notify the owners. That’s when things get bizarre. The phone rang and it was the owner of one of the shepherds, Tammy Tanksley, who lives 80 miles away in Fort Smith, AR. She stated after answering a knock at her door, the pair were on her front porch along with their beds and bag of toys. She stated they were, wet, dirty and appeared to be very tired. She called Jonni Sims, owner of Dietz, right away, but neither had an explanation for how the dogs got there. The only explanation, is that the dogs grew tired of 12 hour work days and decided to make a break for it!
