Red Lobster announced today that they will no longer be serving a fan favorite. The announcement came as quite a shock to the restaurant industry.
As of May 1, 2017 Red Lobster announced it will no longer be serving it’s crab legs in any form. The move comes as a surprise to many in the industry. The parent company, Darden Restaurants LLC, cited poor sales performance of the food item saying “sales were down across the board”. Darden claims that discontinuing the item will help prop up the bottom line as crab prices have soared. No word yet if the company intends to make the change permanent, or if they plan to offer a replacement item on it’s already gutted menu.
