Routine traffic stop turns into deadly shoot-out

It was about 4:31a.m early this Thursday April 27, local West Philadelphia man, Ashley Warner, age 29 was gunned down by 18th district officers on the 5200 block of Catherine Street after what started as a normal routine traffic stop. Officer David McFadden who was involved in the incident told reporters β€œI pulled the offenders car over only because there was a tail light out and as I approached the car it smelled of booze and marajuanna, so I approached with caution”. What happened next Officer McFadden said both supprised and startled him forcing him to react quickly! After running Warners license McFadden discovered it was suspended due to outstanding warrants Warner had and before McFadden could approach, Warner opened fired. The incident lasted what seemed to be the longest, grulling 3 minutes McFadden said ending in Warner being struck multiple times and killed on the scene. There is an ongoing investigation to see just why this incident occurred and if there was any potential of the result being different.
