Spot lighting legalized in Alabama for 2017-2018 deer season

For the upcoming 2017-2018 deer season Alabama Game and Fish Commission will be legalizing spot lighting for deer due to hunters complaining about not seeing deer during daylight hours. Each hunter with a valid hunting license will be able to take two deer by spot lighting using shotgun with buckshot only. This will be on private and public lands and no more than two hours after sunset. Deer harvested will be recorded in the same manner as last season’s harvest record.
