Stony Farm Defense, a firearms training school in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan has been named as the top firearms training school in the U.P. The prestigious honor was bestowed on Saturday by the National Association of Defensive Firearms Instructors (NADFI).
Steve Charles is the founder and owner of Stony Farm Defense, a relatively new training venue in the Sault Ste Marie, Michigan area.
Steve began teaching handgun in the public sector in 1990 and has been teaching defensive shooting programs in the private sector since 2012 with the opening of Stony Farm Defense.
“I have a goal of making you safer by focusing on principles and concepts that are geared for incidents that are extremely violent and unpredictable”, Mr Charles says.
Stony Farm Defense employs several professional firearms instructors and it’s clients include Military, Law Enforcement, Private Security Officers and Private Citizens across the Great Lakes region.
Charles also says, “Our teaching style focuses on the student’s progression. We are not concerned with your prior training (or your training background), but how we can assist you to develop your current skill level and your ability to execute your current skills when you need them most”. In addition to scheduled and private course being taught by Stony Farm Defense instructors, the school also hosts various nationally known firearms instructors.
