Strongsville Man Attacked by “Stowaway” Alligator

Steve and Kay diLauro, Strongsville, Ohio residents for nearly 40 years, couldn’t believe it, when a seven-foot alligator chased Spider, one of their three cats, through an open patio door from their side yard into their family room. After his initial shock, Mr. diLauro, a mostly-sedentary senior, put down his pie and ice cream, got out of his recliner, and heroically saved Spider from the crocodilian reptile, which apparently had stowed away in a Florida fruit transport truck delivering to a Strongsville, Ohio supermarket near the diLauros home. The pesky predator released its clamp on Mr. diLauro’s arm after repeated ear-piercing screams from Mrs. diLauro, who, despite her hysteria, managed to take this picture. -Seymour Thanu, Ch. 23 News
