Trinidadian woman held at Heathrow airport for possession of 2KG of cocaine as well as a small amount of marijuana.

On Wednesday night, Megan Maraj, a Trinidadian national living in Trincity was traveling from Port of Spain, Trinidad to England and then Hong Kong. Upon arrival at Heathrow airport in England, customs and excise officers approached the woman who seemed to be acting suspiciously in which she then tried to outrun the officers. The officers apprehended the woman and upon searching her they found 2 kilograms of cocaine as well as 2 packets of dried cannabis. She was arrested in England. Calls to her family in Millenium Lakes, Trincity have gone unanswered and when channel23news reporter Jason Rychan visited the family’s home on Thursday, he was asked to leave the premises as the father had no comments to make.
