Veteran indicted on drug, weapons charge

HILLSDALE – Corey J. Murray, 30, of Hillsdale, was indicted Friday on charges of trafficking methamphetamine and selling stolen firearms.

Murray, a 10-year Army veteran, is being held without bond at the Hillsdale County Jail and will appear for preliminary hearings within the next three weeks.

His arrest stemmed from a months long investigation by a joint task force comprised of local, state, and federal law enforcement.

Murray exercised his rights to remain silent Friday afternoon as he was arraigned in Hillsdale County District Court.

According to court documents, Murray was selling stolen firearms to area teens, whom he used as street level dealers in a trafficking ring stretching far beyond the borders of Hillsdale County.
