Age of consent to be reduced to 14

In the run-in to Election Day, Theresa May’s manifesto included a number of laws which just missed the headlines – including that which reduces the age of consent to legal sexual activity to 14. Should the Tory’s win the election, the new law will be in place with immediate affect, with sub-sanctions which allow any person below the age of 21 to have sex with one another – in other words, a 29 year old and a 14 year old could legally have sex.
