Bridgeport, Connecticut to be Demolished and Rebuilt

The city of Bridgeport, CT is due to be demolished and rebuilt starting at the beginning of 2018. With the recent approval of bill H.R 32251 the entire city of Bridgeport will be knocked down. Governor Dannel Malloy has stated “With a rise in the amount of violent crimes and murders, we thought that just starting over with this city was the best move. Rearranging the landscape, removing the “hoods” and improving the schools would be a positive move for this city. It is slowly becoming a mini Chicago and we need to fix that now before it gets worse.” Drafts for the new city show that Central and Harding High schools will be combined into a much larger Bridgeport High School and a second High school will be built and it is proposed to be named Seaside High School and will be located near a revamped Seaside Beach. Many residents are welcoming this change with open arms as they think it will get rid of the drug and gang problem in Bridgeport. “I’m glad they are finally taking our concerns seriously, I can’t wait to see a new beautiful Bridgeport.” Said Melissa Buchanan. More and more drafts of the plans will be made public in the upcoming months.
