Changes to WV Sportsman Licenses Coming Summer of 2017

Representatives of the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) stated that due to the over fishing and hunting throughout the state, the cost of hunting and fishing licenses will be doubling in cost on July 1, 2017. If you already have a license you must pay this difference between June 1, and July 1, if you choose not to pay you will lose your 2017 license. DNR states that raising the fee will help put an end to all the old farts taking the good spots, obtaining their limit and quickly leaving early in the day but not before crossing and tangling up your fishing lines. One local fisherman named Jordan said this is an epidemic that must end.
