EPA mandates NJ ban future events at all dragways.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) mandates a new regulation that would prevent any dragways in the entire state of NJ from holding any future events. The ruling by Mr. Pruitt, in one of his first formal actions as the nationโ€™s top environmental official, passed a petition filed a decade ago by two environmental groups that had asked that the agency ban all dragway events in the state of NJ. Following the ruling passed this Monday evening May 8, 2017, Old Bridge Township Raceway Park located in the town of Englishtown, Island Dragway located in town Great Meadows, and Atco Dragway located in the town of Atco will be closed indefinitely for the reminder of the 2017 season. This new judment will have a major impact to the business owners and employees of these locations.

New regulations by the EPA will be squeezing the aftermarket automotive industry heavily for years to come. This is just the start to Mr. Pruittโ€™s plan to close all dragways nationwide.
