Local couple wins contest in Giles.

Local couple from Staffordsville, John C Midkiff, Jr. and Melissa Midkiff won the contest Bang for Bucks. The drawing was held Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 5 pm. The $1,000,000 check will be given to the Midkiff’s by country singer Garth Brooks on Monday, May15, 2017. When entering the contest, contestants were asked if they won, how would they spend their money. Melissa replied, “I would give it to my dogs. They deserve a new home with personal groomers.” Melissa said she felt like if anything was to happen to her and her husband, she wanted her fur babies to be comfortable and happy.
