Local Ellijay man arrested for everything

A man who was only recently identified as Matthew Barnes, was finally arrested in Pigeon Forge by local authorities with the assistance of the Ellijay SWAT team, who had been following Barnes ever since he passed a Sergeant with the Ellijay PD going 151 miles per hour in a black pickup.

Reposts confirmed by the dash cams and surveillance cameras show that the suspect started his day off chaining the Regions bank vault to his vehicle and pulling it out the front door. The man was reported to be acting very calm, despite the chaos ensuing around him. He was also covered in a white powder and eating pickles during the traumatizing ordeal. When confronted by security, he simply threw cans of mountain dew at them with tremendous force.

When the officer began pursuit, Mr Barnes allegedly yelled, calling them “stupid ass dummies.”

In the process of distracted driving, the suspect hit a bull that escaped its pasture. Miraculously there was little damage to the vehicle, but nearby children were traumatized when the animal exploded.

Finally the chase ended when he ran out of fuel. A brief foot chase ensued, but the suspects only statement so far has been, I quote “once I jumped out of the truck and forgot my pickles, it was no use.”

Apart from the stolen vault filled with cash and personal property of bank clientele, authorities also recovered several empty bottles of vodka and 422 pounds of cocaine in the back of the pickup.

As of now the charges are felony theft, driving while under the influence, possession of a prohibited substance, cruelty to animals, cruelty to children, speeding, reckless driving, attempting to evade police officers, destruction of public property, destruction of private property, felony mailbox destruction, and kidnapping.

When questioned, the runway bride in the vehicle stated she got in voluntarily, but when she saw him speed above 110mph she was too nervous to say anything.

Bail has been set at 50 million dollars. So far $69 in donations have been reached.
