One America News Network is reporting in an exclusive that White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon is resigning his White House position, citing irreconcilable differences between the president’s and Bannon’s own world view. In part his resignation letter states:
“Although I and others worked hard to help elect President Trump on a strong, conservative platform, it has become all too clear that the president doesn’t actually have an ideological position on any issue besides ‘what is good for Trump.’ With that in mind, I have to declare personally that I feel Donald Trump is unfit to be President of the United States and that I will resign my position with immediate effect.”
A spokesman for Bannon, who wishes to remain anonymous, has confirmed the wording of Bannon’s resignation letter.
Bannon, a founding member of conservative news organization Breitbart, was a key player in the Trump campaign and was a member of the National Security Council from January 28, 2017 to April 5, 2017. He has been mired in controversy over his extreme conservative views, alleged White Nationalist affiliation, and connections in the on-going investigation over Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
The news of Bannon’s resignation comes on the heels of several reports of President Trump’s growing dislike over Bannon’s handling of situations. Bannon is the first member of President Trump’s inner-circle to resign and state ideological differences with the president.
