Relative unknown in the BBQ competitions, Don Burns, of Wadena, MN, beat out Myron Mixon, pitmaster, BBQ Champion & owner of Jack’s Old South.
As you can see, Mixon was not happy to be handily overrun by backyard smoke & grill hobbiest, Burns. Johnny Trigg stated that Burns’ ribs were the best he had ever eaten & his pork tenderloin smoke ring was absolute perfection.
Burns, while thrilled with his first competition and first win, said that he has achieved the ultimate with his win over Mixon and will not compete again. He will now be content to just continue making great BBQ at home for his family & friends.
