Study: people who consume ketchup are smarter and healthier

Pittsburgh, PA: A major study has just been released by the H.J. Heinz Institute showed a significant benefit from consuming ketchup. The random control study tracked 1500 participants over a 30 year period. One group consumed ketchup at least three times per week, while the other group consumed no ketchup. The ketchup group exhibited lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and had an average IQ 17 points higher than the non-ketchup group. The studies authors speculate that the increased consumption of lycopene in the ketchup could account for the differences, but say that follow up studies will need to be conducted.
