Theme park plans for Nottinghamshire village

Plans have emerged today that land in a peaceful Nottinghamshire village previously earmarked for residential and industrial use is now to used for an Alton Towers style theme park.

The village of Shireoaks looks set to host a new multimillion tourist attraction to rival the famous Staffordshire theme park. Secret meetings have taken place with local planners and the green light is expected to be given imminently with rides due to open spring 2020.

A source from a well known international attraction management company said today ” We have been looking for a long time for a site to build this exciting new attraction in the East Midlands. Shireoaks has proved by far to be the most ideal site with close proximity to the motorway network and a railway station that can deliver 1000s of thrill seekers each day”.

We have reached out to Bassetlaw Council planners who have yet to comment on this story.
