Trump on Brazil: “It shouldn’t even exist.”

Late Saturday evening, president Trump made mention at a brief interview in Washington, DC that he’s not interested in being allies with Brazil. When asked if he would pursue better foreign relations with the South American country, he responded “Why would I want to have a good relationship with Brazil? I don’t like the bad countries. I only like the good ones.”

Reporters immediately began to ask him if he really thought his statements toward Brazil were appropriate. “Of course. I mean, just look at Brazil. It’s just dirt. That’s all there is. One big dirt. It shouldn’t even exist. Look, when I said ‘America first’, I was talking about this America. The one we’re in right now. I wasn’t talking about the America under us. They’re under us for a reason. Because they’re all bandits.”

The fact-checking website Politico early this morning reported that while Trump’s comments were indeed inflammatory, they were mostly true. Just last April, Brazilian citizens were polled about whether or not they felt they were bloodthirsty uncivilized savages, and 69% of respondents answered “Yes.” Statistics also show that Brazil is primarily one big barren wasteland with no electricity, water, vegetation and animals.

Trump was asked if he will apologize for his statements but declined to answer.
