Trump to sign executive order removing opioids from the prescription drug plan for medicade

President elect Donald Trump announced Saturday May 5 that he will sign executive order removing opioids from the prescription drug plan for the federal Medicare program. This will only effect states with the highest statistics of opiate addiction/abuse. The states affected will be primarily southern states including (but not limited to) Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, Kentucky and West Virginia.
The measure is one of several in an attempt to quash the enormous national debt more that doubled during the Obama administration. The executive order’s resulting bill is expected to receive overwhelming support from the Republican controlled House but will meet fierce opposition in the Senate. If passed into law this will drive sufferers of chronic pain to the streets for relief and create not only a surge in illegal drug trafficking in these states but will drive up dramatically the cost of such substances.
