Baltimore’s Dust Addicts set to produce Jay-Z’s new album

We all know Hov likes to take credit for discovering new talent. This time the talent is none other that Baltimore’s own Dust Addicts.

These kings of the Boom-Bap have been making noise in their home town for many years, collectively as well as solo artists/producers.

DJ Booman (Grant Burley III) and DJ Kool Breez (Eric Atwell) both started there production careers as most do as DJs. They got their footing helping to create what we now know as Baltimore Club Music.

While in a undisclosed studio with Jay in NYC the Addicts reflect on the call that changed their lives. “It’s about time” Kool Breez responded when Hov reached out personally via phone call in early May.

“I love their work ethic and their sound is pure New York Hip-Hop, which is a breath of fresh air in the current state of Hip-Hop right now” said Mr. Carter.

With the album dropping in the coming weeks we can only imagine the impact this new but yet old sound will do for the God emcee. So far we think the Dust Addicts will be in high demand in the near future already working on projects with Dr. Dre, Nas, Bootcamp Click, Eminem’s comeback album as well as the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
