Long Beach Island
You won’t find any boardwalks here—LBI, as it’s known to locals, consists of 18 miles of pure, sandy beachfront. Wedged between the Atlantic Ocean and Barnegat Bay, it’s home to a handful of popular beaches including Beach Haven, Harvey Cedars, Ship Bottom and Surf City. It’s two hours by car or bus from NYC, but once you’re there, you’ll feel like you’re worlds away. Beach Haven, Long Beach Island
