Breaking news: Two arrested in las animas county, transportation scandal

La junta police department was dispatched to the 600th block on a disturbance call regarding strange noises/activities coming from an illegally parked tractor trailer. Contact with the driver was not made at the time. Approximately 30 minutes later the livestock tractor trailer was stopped for excessive speed 20 miles south of town on highway 109. The officer stated the cargo consisted of: 34 zebras, 3 camels, 15 ostriches, and 5 bengal tigers. All being allegedly shipped without proper permits and improper containment. An eye witness report states “It sounded like a zoo crashed into a rave as the truck came down the street.” The two suspects Cade W. of las animas county and Preston F. Have been taken into custody for the illegal transportation of exotic animals without proper licensing. More updates will be available as the investigation is ongoing.
