Canadian Forces soldier arrested in public nuisance charge

On Thursday, June 29, officers were called to Northgate Shopping Centre at about 1:45 p.m., after a call was recieved from mall employees. Police said witnesses reported hearing the suspect loudly shouting the lyrics to “Barbie Girl” and lathering himself in KY Jelly. He then attempted to jump onto mall security personnel, shouting “Giddy up, snowflake”
EPS said the suspect was appended after a lengthy foot chase through the mall.
Constable Addams told reporters that the length of the chase was caused by the suspect “lubed up and slipping out of their grip”.
The suspect, Master-Corporal Gregory Bell, a member of the Canadian Armed Forces, has not given a reason for the disturbance, only stating that he was bored.
Alcohol was not ruled out as a factor.
He is suspected to appear in court on July 16.
