Couple Arrested in “Bonnie and Clyde” String of Robberies and Homicides

A local couple Erik J. Ungerer, 32 and Chelsea A. Burgess, 26, were arrested Thursday, June 29. The couple were pulled over less than a mile from their home and questioned about a tail-light being out, a quick scan of the tag let officers know that the car was in fact stolen. After an extended car chase through Lancaster and Kershaw counties and a short gun-fight the suspects were apprehended and taken into custody. The couple are believed to be behind numerous robberies and homicides in the area. The couple was quoted as saying, “We’ll never let go of each other, or the trigger!” They are being held at the Lancaster County Correctional Facility without bond. Their first court appearance will be held Monday, July 3rd in Lancaster County.
