‘Doctor Who’ Canceled Due to filming set backs and poor ratings.

The series Doctor Who was canceled earlier this week during production of this years annual Christmas Special. The decision was made to cancel the series altogether by BBC One President Danny Cohen after the new actor cast for the role of the Fourteenth Doctor, Kris Marshall, abruptly resigned two weeks into shooting the special.

BBC President went on to say that “This wasn’t the only deciding factor, the show has been in a decline as of late and its time was coming to an end sooner rather than later.”

“A large part of these jobs are managing failure, and we have made the tough calls and canceled shows that we would otherwise love to stay on the air. That’s the job. I canceled ‘Doctor Who’ for the same business and scheduling reasons that I canceled ‘The One Show,’ ‘and ‘Copper’” Cohen said Tuesday, according to the Daily Mail Reporter.

“Doctor Who was a challenging one for me because it has been around so long, but once the rating started effecting the shows budget that was where we landed.”
