Douglasville Man Wanted For Questioning In Connection With International Ponzi Scheme

ATLANTA, GA–FBI officials have issued a BOLO alert to state and local authorities for Marcus Kister, 39, of Douglasville, for his involvement in a multimillion dollar international Ponzi scheme that has defrauded hundreds of investors out of an estimated $26.2 million.

Special agent Tom Schmidt, the agent in charge of the investigation, says Mr. Kister is being sought for questioning after a foreign diplomat turned over evidence that has implicated a group of ten possible suspects from multiple countries, including the United States, Russia, China, and Hong Kong. Schmidt says this group is responsible for taking in millions of dollars in bogus investments to phony companies.

Authorities say that Kister has a history of psychological instability and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Individuals with information on Marcus Kister’s whereabouts are being asked to not approach him and call the FBI tip line at 1-888-FBI-TIPS, or call their local law enforcement agency. Persons filing a tip report may remain anonymous. A $5,000 reward has been approved for information leading to Mr. Kister’s apprehension.
