Former u.s. navy seal team leader Lt. Jerome b.Lopez was ambushed outside a south Carolina bar by 10 klu klux klan member’s.After coming to the aide of a waitress being harassed by the klan member’s.upon leaving the bar,the klansmen set out to ambush Lt.lopez as he walked to his car.lopez a trained veteran,manage to draw his weapon and shot 3 of his attackers as they approached lopez with their weapons drawn.witnesses said that’s when all hell broke loose,seven more assailants amerged from a grey cargo van with automatic weapons,firing multiple rounds at lopez.witnesses said lopez was hit in the leg,but managed to shoot and kill 3 more of the klansmen before taking cover behind a parked mini van.wounded,the remaining klansmen got back in the cargo van and attempted to run lopez down.barely able to get to his feet,lopez fired multiple shots at the van striking the driver in the head causing the cargo van to crash and burst into flames.moments later aiken county public safety arrived on the scene,where they found what looked like a scene from a movie.several dead assailants in the parking lot,and four more in the charred cargo van.lopez was transported to mcg medical center in augusta ga.where he is expected to recover,no charges are being filed against him,as it was clear lopez no choice but to defend himself.
