Giant fruit flies found in local nursing home

A local nursing home has reported a large loss of apples and banana’s over the last several week’s. The produce is meant to go to resident’s and their families as a complimentary service. It was initially thought that the huge losses were possibly the work of local shoplifters. This was ruled out when video surfaced of the facilities maintenance supervisor leaving the building on a regular basis with cardboard boxes and placing them in the back of his truck. A plan was put into effect by the facility administrator working in conjuction with local authorities to surround the man the next time he was reported seen taking boxes to his truck. Working on a tip from an employee who wishes to remain anonymous, the team surrounded the company’s maintenance supervisor Friday evening as he was loading boxes in his truck. It was soon discovered that the man was simply taking leftovers home from weekly employee grillouts. With this revealed, the team of investigators quickly acted on a secondary tip from another employee named Darlene who wishes to also remain anonymous. Darlene had stated there was a strong odor coming from the buildings west stairwell. She also noted strange sounds (sounds that a small aircraft may make) coming from the same area. Upon investigation of the stairwells uppermost section, a massive fruit fly was found dead surrounded by hundreds of pounds of rotting fruit. The fly is the largest of it’s kind ever reported. Weighing a whopping 128 lbs, It’s remains was taken to a local university for examination.
