Henryetta woman wins $80K on penny slots at Cherokee Casino

Katherine S. Delso of Henryetta won $80,000 on a Wheel of Fortune penny slot machine at Casino on June 26th, 2017.
HENRYETTA, OK. — Katherine S. Delso of Henryetta walked away with $80,000 after hitting it big on a penny slot machine at Cherokee Casino on Monday night.
Delso said she had been playing the same $20 over a two-hour span before she hit a $344 win, followed moments later by a $80,000 jackpot.
“I was happy to win the $344. I just went into the casino on a whim,” said Delso, who is currently a stay at home mom to an 18 month old named Sylas. “I hate to say that to the die-hard people who always play.”
She said her friend persuaded her to keep playing the Wheel of Fortune slot when she thought of walking away. When she won the eighty thousand dollar jackpot, she thought it was a practical joke her friend had somehow orchestrated.
“I thought I had been punk’d,” she said with a laugh.
Those looking to sell Delso a timeshare or investment scheme, be warned that the money is already spoken for.
“I am a single mom, so it’s already spent,” she said. “I plan on paying off some debt & buying a new car.”
