Chiemi Karube, a local resident of Blount County, was arrested this evening for blocking traffic on Alcoa Hwy in an attempt to help a family of turtles cross the busy highway safely. When police arrived to detain her, she assaulted an officer by punching him in the face and running away screaming “Turtle lives matter!” Although successful in her mission, Ms Karube earned herself a visit to Blount County jail. The injured officer is expected to make a full recovery.
