Massive Alligator Caught Off Of Southern Sandbridge Beach

Caught alive, Thursday afternoon at approximately 5:00PM, a 17 foot salt water crocodile was restrained by the Sandbridge Police Department, the Marine Stranding Center of Virginia Beach, and the United States Coast Guard. The Sandbridge police department received frantic calls from people being chased by the crocodile on the beach near Corbett Lane. They were able to catch it only after it attacked the ice cream man who had been driving his truck incessantly up and down the streets of Sandbridge Beach all day and all night.

The 2,572-pound salt water crocodile, Sandbridge Police nicknamed Crocky Balboa, is suspected of attacking several people and biting the legs off a cocker spaniel named Lucky.
