A local man woke up from a dead sleep, got dressed and went to work this morning. Jonathan Chouinard of New Kent County, Virginia was awakened by the sound of his alarm clock at 6 a.m. and got dressed. Chouinard, 36, ate breakfast before telling his wife he was leaving for work. “He does this five days every week”, explained Chouinard’s wife, Alexis. “The most amazing thing about it is he does this along with millions of other Americans”.
Chouinard stated that he gets up and goes to work because “the bills don’t pay themselves”. His boss, Steve, also expressed gratitude for the “bold and courageous act”. “Jon is very brave for doing this every morning. I don’t how he and millions of others continue to do this on a daily basis”, said Steve. “For that matter, I don’t how I do it”, he added.
Chouinard states that he will continue to get up on work days and return to his place of employment. “I don’t intend to stop now. My job gives me a sense of purpose and provides good pay and benefits”, explained Chouinard. His wife also works and runs her own marketing firm. “He is certainly an amazing man to me and I love him dearly”, said Mrs. Chouinard, who also gets up and goes to work. “Alexis is a great wife for me”, stated Mr. Chouinard. “I’m equally as amazed that she gets up and goes to work, too. Seriously! Who does that?”.
The couple has plans for a family and stated that they will continue to “soldier through” the same fate affecting millions of other employed Americans.
