PARIS FIREFIGHTERS DISGRUNTLED

PARIS, KY – Firefighters in Paris are in a bit of an uproar lately. A current firefighter who wishes to remain anonymous tells News 23 that times are changing within the department. This comes at a time that the department is facing a high turnover rate as well. They have had 2 paramedics recently quit to pursue greener grasses. But that’s not the only shortages. We’re told that Batallion Chief Mike Duffy, who is on light duty but somehow still performs his battalion chiefs duties, is currently being covered by a Lieautenant from firehouse 2. That leaves a short know it all overseeing that truck.

On top of the already low staffing, EMS Secretary H Proffitt took a week off, while highlighting and posting on her door the national shortages of supplies. And the 1 employee that she oversees took next week off. Her 23-28 day off in 6 months.

The dissatisfaction came to a head today when the firefighters were overworked by having to remove furniture and use a scrub brush to clean carpets. However, the department did rent a shampooer.

In other PFD news, Joe Buchignani missed an important soccer game today.

A call was placed to 305 and a half today however he was out of the office attempting to complete surveys.
