Atlanta Braves first base man Freddie Freeman suspended 80 games for positive PED test

Atlanta Braves first base man Freddie Freeman has been suspended for 80 games under baseballโ€™s minor league drug program following a positive test for the performance-enhancing substance Stanozolol.

The 27-year-old was a 2nd-round draft pick 10 years ago from El Modena High School in Orange, California. He was batting .335 with 17 homers and 35 RBIs in 46 games this season for Atlanta Braves

His suspension, announced Tuesday, was the 46th this year under the minor league drug program. There have been two under the big league program: Pittsburgh All-Star outfielder Starling Marte and Philadelphia pitcher Elniery Garcia.
